BIG IDEAStop and listen. What is God saying?

KEY VERSEHosea 8:1 (Hosea to Israel)
Sound the alarm! The enemy descends like an eagle on the people of the Lord, for they have broken my covenant and revolted against my law.

Pay attention to what is happening around you. I will sound an alarm if my judgment is coming your way. Seek me and listen to the Holy Spirit. I can speak in a still, small voice, but I may also roar like a lion. Pay attention to what I am saying and what is going on around you. Don’t be an indifferent believer who sits in judgment of others while ignoring his sin.

Don’t make your plans and decisions, and then say a quick prayer, asking for my help. Do you want my guidance, or do you just want me to bless your effort? I find it odd that believers will seek the world’s wisdom and take note of the “latest and greatest” yet ignore my instruction. I have provided the Bible. It’s my love letter to you. Don’t treat it as just another book. Thank you for reading my word today. May it guide and strengthen you.

God offers an opportunity to repent. Don’t wait for the alarm, but if it is sounding, act quickly. Is there anything you need to ask for forgiveness today? Anything in your life that needs your time and attention?
