Hebrews 1:1-14

SUMMARYSeated

OVERVIEWGod the Father declares the superiority of Jesus, and Jesus sits at his right hand.

BIG IDEABecause Jesus has all authority, he forgives our sins. It is finished.

KEY VERSEHebrews 1:3 (declaration of Christ’s majesty)
The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Jesus is everything you need. I know you’ve heard that, and you may have even taught that, but do you believe it? He is superior to all. In the past, some have worshipped angels, thinking their connection to me will aid their requests. Some even do that today. They don’t realize who Jesus is and what he has done for them. Jesus is my Son. He is king. He laid the foundations of the earth and has authority over all things. Jesus is seated at my right hand. There is no higher position.

What troubles you? What makes you worry? What frightens you? Who are the people that intimidate you? In what way does your past haunt you? I can resolve all of that today. Jesus came to earth to free you from your past, strengthen you in your present, and give you hope for your future. While Jesus is seated at my right hand, he is with you, too. Stop carrying guilt or being hindered by fear. Lay it down. Right now. Offer it to Jesus, and he will give you the strength you need. You are loved, and I am with you forever.

NEXT STEP
Thank God for forgiving your sin. If you feel guilt for your sin, confess it and forget it, because it is gone. If it haunts you, don’t waste time thinking about it. Instead, thank God that he has forgiven you and cleansed you from your sin. Celebrate God’s goodness instead of feeling overwhelmed or distraught.
