SUMMARY: Lot lingers
OVERVIEW: God provides numerous opportunities for Lot and his family. The angels ultimately grab Lot and his family and take them out of the city.
BIG IDEA: Flee temptation and don’t look back.
KEY VERSE: Genesis 19:14 (Lot tries to protect his sons-in-law)
So Lot rushed out to tell his daughters’ fiancés, “Quick, get out of the city! The Lord is about to destroy it.” But the young men thought he was only joking.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Don’t hesitate when I guide you. Don’t pause. Follow me immediately. I love you, and I am with you. I know your circumstances, and I know where you need to be. Count on me to give instructions that bring life. I want to count on you to follow me. I will lead you towards health and wholeness. My path often has boundaries, but they protect you from harm because I love you. Don’t try to see how far you can go past each of my limits. See it for what it is—my line of love. If you follow me, I will give you all the adventure you desire.
Can you hear me when I call your name? I use the Bible, but I also use circumstances, other believers, and my Spirit. Practice silence. Practice being still, even amidst your busy days. I want you to learn to hear me amidst the noise. I speak in the quiet times of your day as well as during rush hour.
