BIG IDEADon’t compromise.

KEY VERSE: Genesis 14:19-20 (Melchizedek’s blessing)
Melchizedek blessed Abram with this blessing: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And blessed be God Most High, who has defeated your enemies for you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the goods he had recovered.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Don’t be intimidated by enemies or circumstances. Keep your focus on me. Don’t be distracted by challenges or concerns. Keep trusting me. Don’t be overwhelmed by what you see or feel. Keep following me. Look at any obstacle as a chance for me to show you how I will provide for you. Everything will not go your way, but that’s OK because I am your heavenly father, and I love you. Trust me in all things.

Don’t limit your trust to times when you’re caught off-guard or unprepared. Indeed, pray before your test or big meeting or difficult conversation. But also pray after those moments. Call on me to help in your moment of crisis, but invite me into your stillness, too. I want you to breathe in and out, inhaling and exhaling my presence. The more I live through you, the more you will truly live. Breathe in. Breathe out. Seek me. Repeat.

NEXT STEP
Don’t let down your guard. Whatever you pray for this week, make it a point to pray afterward, too. Either thank God for the result you hoped you’d receive or thank him for the result he thought you needed.
