Genesis 10

Genesis 10

Genesis 10:1-32

SUMMARY: Noah’s descendants

OVERVIEWNoah’s great-grandson was Nimrod, who established Babylon and Ninevah, two key biblical cities that did not follow God.

BIG IDEA: Leave a legacy that inspires others to love God, love people, and make disciples.

KEY VERSE: Psalm 103:17-18 (God’s desire for us)
But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!

Remember, I am building into you, loving you, and equipping you to make an impact in the world. But your impact is not only on the lives of those outside your home but with family members, friends, and others you’re connected to relationally. Build into them. Help them know me and love me. Teach them that I love them.

You don’t always have to do so with a message. A word of encouragement or an act of kindness works wonders. Affirm my activity in their lives. Even if they are far from me, pray for them, and look for opportunities to plant seeds of hope in their lives. I have an excellent mission for you globally, but it will never be at the expense of those I have brought to you. When you love and serve your family and friends, you are faithfully fulfilling my calling in your life.

Pray for a godly character for your children or those with whom you have a close relationship. Share with them when you’ve benefitted from following my ways and a time you suffered because you didn’t.
