OVERVIEWPaul reminds the Galatian believers to continue to grow in their faith through belief in Christ—not by their efforts.

BIG IDEAFaith in Christ brings freedom. Living by works brings exhaustion.

KEY VERSEGalatians 3:3 (Paul questions the Galatians.)
How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Continue to put your faith in Christ—not works—to grow your relationship with me. Remember, I had a relationship with Israel long before they received the law. They were to seek me and follow me. The law gave them boundaries to help them live in community with one another, and it showed they could not live a perfect life. The law revealed they needed help, a savior. And that savior is Jesus.

Stop trying so hard to live correctly. You’ll end up frustrating yourself, and you’ll also miss connecting with me and my heart. I have already adopted you as my child. We are in a relationship, regardless of whether or not you obey the law. Now, you will find it beneficial to live lawfully, but that has nothing to do with my love. Seek me, and you will find me. Listen for me as I will be speaking. Follow me and experience life the way I intended.

NEXT STEP
Don’t try to live the Christian life today. Instead, take time to seek God, asking him to fill you with his Spirit. Practice doing this multiple times a day, so that it becomes part of your ongoing rhythm for life.
