BIG IDEAWe are free in Christ!

KEY VERSEGalatians 2:20 (Paul’s declaration of faith)
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You are saved by grace—through faith. Your works do not save you. Christ’s work on the cross accomplishes that. So do not work for me, hoping for salvation. You could never work enough to pay for your sins. But you don’t have to. Instead, receive forgiveness through Christ and rest in the knowledge that you are my child today and always. Although your works do not save you, as my saved child, I do have work for you. I invite you to join me in making a difference in the world.

And you no longer have to live under the law to earn my love. I already love you. I do want you to live lawfully, however. Honor those in authority and enjoy the blessing of obedience. Good laws protect you and those you love. But they do not impact how I view you or if I will love you. Enjoy the blessing of being my child without having to perform for me.

NEXT STEP
Celebrate the grace of God by dealing directly with anyone with whom you may have a conflict. Show mercy in the way you speak to the person and in how you talk about the issue. End your time by praying together, thanking God for the other person, and for the freedom he gives in Christ.
