BIG IDEADon’t hope for God’s mercy when you can receive his grace.

KEY VERSEEzekiel 6:13 (God to Ezekiel)
They will know that I am the Lord when their dead lie scattered among their idols and altars on every hill and mountain and under every green tree and every great shade tree—the places where they offered sacrifices to their idols.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
When you cast me aside to honor and worship others, it not only saddens me, but it hinders your growth and limits what you can accomplish in the world. I know the boasts that false idols make, but they never provide what they promise. Don’t be deceived by their shine and shimmer. It is a facade or—at best—lasts only briefly. Turn to me instead and watch how I provide for you and bring you the desires of your heart.

I am the one who will help you accomplish far more than you could ever imagine. I am the one who introduces you to the right people at the right time and for the right reasons. Do not offer worship to others for what they promise. Offer worship to me for who I am. I am truth, I am holy, and I am life. You will be disappointed when you go another way, and I will miss our time together. Even so, I will always invite you to put away idols or any distractions and return to me. I will be here for you.

NEXT STEP
Be wise and remove any idol in your life—anything that distracts you from following God. Ask a friend for help to process this if needed.
