Ezekiel 38

Ezekiel 38:1-23

SUMMARYGreat victory

OVERVIEWA coalition of nations will attack peaceful Israel (verse 14), but God will provide a victory to declare and reveal his power and authority.

BIG IDEAGod will protect and provide for his people.

KEY VERSEEzekiel 38:23 (God to Ezekiel)
And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I want you to learn to rest. I want you to learn to breathe calmly and deeply, despite any chaos that swirls around you. You will face trouble in this world, so don’t be surprised by it. I promised to be with you and to provide for you, not to prevent you from seeing, feeling, or experiencing pain. But I will be with you in the midst of it all, and I will bring you through it.

Not everyone can say that. Not everyone wants my help or thinks they need it. In fact, many will band together, rising up against me, seeking to destroy me. How foolish. Not only will they be defeated, but—most importantly—they will miss the opportunity to surrender to me and know me and my love. I continue to withhold my final judgment, hoping my enemies will become my friends. My hand of peace is extended to all, and if they refuse it, they will be destroyed.

NEXT STEP
You can rest when God is on your side. Set a timer for 3 minutes and reflect on today’s key verse. Replace “in the sight of many nations” with whatever challenge you are facing. Thank God for his presence in your life and pray for the ability to trust him.
