SUMMARY: Gap people
OVERVIEW: God is searching for people to stand in the gap, to represent him in troubling times. He wants someone to be the bridge between his ways and the world’s ways.
BIG IDEA: Stand in the gap. Show others what it means to know and love Jesus in the world today.
KEY VERSE: Ezekiel 22:30 (God to Israel)
I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Apart from me, the world would spin into chaos. Without my Spirit, people would oppose and attack one another. Without Jesus, each person would die in their sin. But I am here, my Spirit is in the world, and Jesus has come! The world does not have to suffer the way it does. Humans can show restraint and be kind and loving to one another. And forgiveness is found through Jesus on the cross. I am calling you and the church to be my voice of hope and healing.
I am looking for faithful servants to stand in the gap. Despite what others hear or know, they need you to approach them, encourage them, challenge them, carry them, or care for them. Do not stand idly by or avert your eyes, pretending not to see the need. I will not overwhelm you or put the weight of the world on your shoulders. That is my job. I carry the weight. But I will call you to follow me and provide leadership in your church, home, and community. Listen for my instruction.
