Ezekiel 2

Ezekiel 2:1-10

SUMMARYEzekiel’s call

OVERVIEWGod calls Ezekiel to serve as his prophet to rebellious and stubborn Israel.

BIG IDEAGod’s work is never easy.

KEY VERSEEzekiel 2:6 (God to Ezekiel)
Son of man, do not fear them or their words. Don’t be afraid even though their threats surround you like nettles and briers and stinging scorpions. Do not be dismayed by their dark scowls, even though they are rebels.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I have plans for you that will make an impact throughout eternity. I will give you opportunities to both show and tell others of my love. There will be times that seem natural to you and others that are awkward, but follow me and don’t miss out on the chance to be part of what I am doing in the world. Your first step is either the most exciting or frightening. But when you take that step of faith, you are obeying me and living the life I created you to live.

It will not be easy, however. Many times you will need to follow me in areas that mock, ridicule, or ignore me. Often, they will be amongst people you already know, many of whom are rebellious and stubborn. Do not be afraid. And do not go another way. They know what you believe, and they are watching you. Obey me by stepping out in faith. I am with you.

NEXT STEP
Is God calling you to do something that frightens or intimidates you? Follow God’s instructions with confidence. Take your next step. He is with you.
