Ezekiel 14

Ezekiel 14:1-23

SUMMARYInescapable

OVERVIEWGod will ignore those who seek him yet simultaneously worship idols and listen to false prophets. Even the righteousness of Noah, Daniel, and Job would not save them.

BIG IDEATrust only God for salvation. Your good works—or another’s on your behalf—will not save you.

KEY VERSEEzekiel 14:6 (God to Ezekiel)
Therefore, tell the people of Israel, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent and turn away from your idols, and stop all your detestable sins.”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
When you sin, turn to me. Seek me for forgiveness. Seek me for wholeness. Seek me for encouragement and comfort. Seek me for the strength you’ll need to apologize to those you’ve hurt as you pursue reconciliation. Don’t disregard your sin, hoping it goes away. It doesn’t disappear. It festers. Let me heal you and clean you. Ignoring your sin is ineffective. I know what you’ve done, so take action right away. Even right now, stop and ask me to search your heart and heal our relationship.

Some trust in tradition for healing. Some put faith in good works. Some believe in the wisdom of other men and women. And some hope they will know the right people. I am the only one who can provide relief. Turn away from any evil in your life, and let me bring hope and healing in your heart, mind, body, and soul. Avoiding the sin in your life is not an option. Take action on it today. I am listening and ready to help.

NEXT STEP
Take time today to thank God for the gift of salvation. Pray with thanks that God provided Jesus as the only way to salvation. Pray for 1-2 people you hope will begin a relationship with God.
