KEY VERSEExodus 31:13 (God to Moses)
Tell the people of Israel: “Be careful to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you from generation to generation. It is given so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I am the creator of the world. I created all things in six days, and on the seventh day, I rested. I did not rest because I was tired. I rested as a model for you to follow. I want you to work hard, but I want you to rest. A healthy rhythm like that will enable you to worship. You can worship as a lifestyle—every day of the week—but one day a week, stop working and rest, worship, and enjoy family and friends. It’s a weekly rhythm that will grow your faith and strengthen your soul.

I have excellent plans for you. I’ve called you to make disciples and be part of what I am doing throughout the world. But I’ll never ask you to be so busy that there is no time to rest. Enjoy your Sabbath rest. It is my gift to you. Be excited about it. Take time to plan for it. And rest.

NEXT STEP
Set aside a day for Sabbath rest. It will likely be the day you go to church, but find another day if that day is too busy. Plan your Sabbath by completing any chores the day before.
