Ephesians 2

Ephesians 2. Incomparable riches

Ephesians 2:1-22

SUMMARYIncomparable riches

OVERVIEWThe more we grow in our faith, the more we will see and understand God’s outrageous love for us.

BIG IDEAThe dead have been brought back to life through Christ.

KEY VERSEEphesians 2:4-5 (Paul’s reminder to the Galatians)
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I am not a distant god that you need to perform for with hopes to get my attention. You are no foreigner or stranger to me. You are my child. I know you and love and am available to you every second of every day. And there’s more. You don’t stand alone. You are family members. You are part of my household with Christ at the head of the table. Welcome home!

Be a peacemaker in the world. You initially resisted me and my gifts, but I drew you to myself to be in a relationship with me. I blessed you and adopted you when you were unloving. I did not wait for you to get your life straight. Do the same for others. Build bridges towards people’s hearts so that they drop their guard. Never do this for your advantage but always for theirs. Help them see you are safe and can be trusted. Bless them in the same way I have blessed you.

NEXT STEP
You were once dead but have been made alive through Jesus. Is there someone in your life that bothers, frustrates, or angers you? Be kind and loving to that person and pray for him or her to be renewed or reborn in Christ.
