OVERVIEW: Life requires both faith and hard work. So don’t sit back and wait for the perfect day to do something—step out and do it, but do with an eye and ear to the Lord.
BIG IDEA: Don’t put all your eggs in one basket: live by faith and work hard.
KEY VERSE: Ecclesiastes 11:6
Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another—or maybe both.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Your character matters. Be a person who works hard. Don’t demand something for your efforts and whine or pout if you do not get what you want. Life will not always turn out as you had hoped, but there is always a plan. I am always involved, so seek me in the process. Watch where and how I am working, and trust me.
Find delight in me and my ways. When you recognize who I am and trust that I am good and provide in numerous ways, you will have peace and find rest. Don’t put all of your energy and effort into a task as if the outcome depended on you. I want you to have vision and pursue a plan. I want you to work hard. But remember to trust me. Don’t get so consumed with what you are doing or think too highly of yourself. Do your best as you follow me. Trust me in the process, and then thank me for the results.
