Deuteronomy 31

Deuteronomy 31:1-30

SUMMARYBaton passed

OVERVIEWThe mantle of leadership passes from Moses to Joshua, and Joshua is encouraged to “be strong and courageous.”

BIG IDEADo not be afraid or terrified, for the Lord is with you.

KEY VERSEDeuteronomy 31:8 (Moses to Joshua)
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
There are foundational truths I want you to know. Never forget them. I want them to become so ingrained in your heart, mind, and soul that you live them and teach them to others. I want you to be strong and courageous because I always go before you. When you close your eyes, I am with you. When you open them, I am with you. When you take a step of faith, I am with you. When you doubt, I am with you. Regardless of where you are or what you’re doing, I am present. You can always turn to me.

But don’t keep these truths to yourself. They are to set you free to follow me and so you can equip others to do the same. Make disciples who live and breathe the same truths, confident I will do what I promised. Teach my word to them so they learn to feed themselves and can equip the next generation.

NEXT STEP
Is there someone you are discipling, someone you are equipping to know, love, and serve the Lord? If so, take time to encourage that person. Remind them God is with them and will never let them down. If not, ask God to bring someone to mind that you can invest in.
