OVERVIEW: The Jerusalem leaders want Paul to follow the Jewish purification laws so that he does not stir up trouble. Paul has no problem with this, as he had not abandoned his Jewish heritage.

So Paul went to the Temple the next day with the other men. They had already started the purification ritual, so he publicly announced the date when their vows would end and sacrifices would be offered for each of them.

Want your faith to grow stronger? Follow me. Your obedience and growth have a direct correlation. Have confidence in me so that you can make connections with those who don’t yet know me. You don’t have to be afraid of other people’s rituals or beliefs, even those that are much different from yours. Sometimes showing an interest in what others believe leads to an opportunity to share your faith.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. That message is simple, clear, and life-changing, but many aren’t ready to hear it. Build relationships and communicate with understanding. Find common ground and develop trust with those you meet. Immerse yourself in other cultures if necessary. Listen to what others are going through and do whatever it takes—short of disobeying me—to be in conversation with people about essential things in life. Don’t let minor things like rituals or customs stop you from connecting with others about critical matters like my love, grace, and saving power.
