2 Chronicles 24:1-27

SUMMARYNo depth

OVERVIEWJoash was spiritually healthy when Jehoiada, the priest, was in his life. But when Jehoiada was gone, Joash followed his own path.

BIG IDEALearn to care for your soul.

KEY VERSE2 Chronicles 24:22 (Joash no longer following the Lord)
That was how King Joash repaid Jehoiada for his loyalty—by killing his son. Zechariah’s last words as he died were, “May the Lord see what they are doing and avenge my death!”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I will place people who love me around you to care for and nurture you. I want you to grow and develop into a mature child in the faith. I want you to know my love and to learn to hear my voice and obey my instructions. Seek someone to disciple you so that you, too, will disciple others. Nothing is more critical than seeking me and following me. I will provide all you need. I will show you how to find fulfillment in life.

But don’t become too reliant on others for your faith. Learn to stand and walk on your own. Don’t be afraid to fail. You will. Learn how to get back up and to begin following me again. Humility is your friend if you are open to instruction. It will not only develop your faith, but it will give you compassion for others who fall behind or choose other paths. You cannot make others follow me, but when they seek help, extend a hand. Don’t be like Joash. He had so much potential, but he took his eyes off of me.
