SUMMARYAccumulation

OVERVIEWSolomon’s wealth and wisdom far exceed what others imagined possible.

BIG IDEADon’t let your blessings take your eyes off of God.

KEY VERSE1 Kings 10:23–25 (Solomon’s wealth described)
So King Solomon became richer and wiser than any other king on earth. People from every nation came to consult him and to hear the wisdom God had given him. Year after year everyone who visited brought him gifts of silver and gold, clothing, weapons, spices, horses, and mules.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I love to give gifts and provide blessings. I will bless you when you obey me, but not just in material ways but in far more valuable and immeasurable ways to the world. I will grow your heart, increase your faith, fortify your soul, expand your mind, and strengthen your relationships. I will make you a whole person, complete in every way. I find joy in giving you gifts. Walk with me and keep your eyes on me as I lead you.

Don’t let my gifts distract you. Stay focused on me and obey me in word, thought, and deed. Enjoy the gifts, but they are not the goal. I am the prize. Run after me. Pursue me with all your strength. And don’t long for the gifts of the world. It’s OK to be interested in them and even enjoy them if provided, but don’t be consumed by them. Most people who hunger for what the world offers become addicted–they are lost and need me. They live to accumulate and think about nothing else. They ignore me and push aside anyone in their path. I will provide what you need. Keep your eyes on me. Trust me in each step you take.

NEXT STEP
Make it a habit to give thanks for what you have. Throughout the day, acknowledge privately and publicly how God has provided for you. Earn a reputation as a grateful person.
