SUMMARY: New vision
OVERVIEW: We can expect to suffer because of our frail, earthly bodies. But it is also temporary. Therefore, we can cling to our faith in Jesus, for our eternal hope overcomes our short-term problems.

So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I am kind and merciful. That has been and will always be true. Your circumstances are rarely compassionate, however. But don’t focus on them. Look beyond them and to me. Even if you suffer, it is temporary and never in vain. And you are never alone, for I am always with you. Let suffering be your guide and teacher.
Blessed are those who are persecuted. Just as Jesus suffered, you will likely as well. I will always give comfort in your suffering and use it for good. Hang on to the hope I offer, for in time, you will share it with others in need. Learn to praise me in suffering. It will lift your spirit and intrigue those around you. As long as you are breathing, I have a plan for you, one that brings hope and peace and joy to many. But my ways are not the world’s ways. Invest in my kingdom, in my way of living. The riches in this world will pass away, but mine are yours forever.
