Numbers 32:1-42

SUMMARYSecond Best

OVERVIEW: Two and a half of Israel’s tribes wanted land outside the promised land. It looked good and seemed right from their perspective, but they missed out on how God promised to bless them.

BIG IDEADon’t settle for good when you can have great.

If we have found favor with you, please let us have this land as our property instead of giving us land across the Jordan River.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You may doubt me from time to time. You may think you know better. But I really do have your best interest in mind. Review my promises—they are for you. Listen to my instruction—it is for your guidance and protection. This is why I want you to spend time with me in my word on a regular basis. I don’t want you to forget all I have for you. And this is also why I want you to pause and seek me throughout your day. I am always speaking but you hear best when you are tuned in.

Follow me today and every day. Trust me in the unknown. Walk with me even when it’s dark. I love you and will lead you. And I will lead you to places that will bring you hope and satisfaction. I will also give you opportunities to build into and encourage others. Follow me and trust me. Don’t miss out!

NEXT STEP
Reflect on the following question: Are you settling for something available now when God wants you to wait for something better?
