BIG IDEATrust God but work hard.

KEY VERSENehemiah 4:9 (Nehemiah’s summary)
But we prayed to our God and guarded the city day and night to protect ourselves.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I want you to pray, seeking me, and trusting me for all you want to do. And I want you to work hard. Put your energy and effort into doing a job well. Take care of the details and look out for those working beside you. Let your work be an act of worship. Don’t separate work and prayer. Do them together. There may be times you stop work to pray, but continue to pray while you work. Whether you’re focusing on a task or talking with a friend, call on me to help.

The more you focus on me and the task before you, the less you will be distracted by the naysayers. There will always be people who doubt what you’re doing or who criticize your plans. I am the voice to focus on. I am the one to pay attention to. Seek me and listen to me. Then work hard and encourage those around you.

NEXT STEP
Work hard in all you do today, but start by praying and be prayerful throughout your task. When you finish, thank God, remembering it is he who gives strength and success.
