KEY VERSE2 Samuel 23:3–4 (David sharing what God said)
The God of Israel spoke. The Rock of Israel said to me: “The one who rules righteously, who rules in the fear of God, is like the light of morning at sunrise, like a morning without clouds, like the gleaming of the sun on new grass after rain.”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
The best leaders are the most active followers. If you want to lead effectively, powerfully, and make an impact, follow me. You do not have to follow me, but why wouldn’t you? You will never lead as well as you could without my guidance and instruction. I will bring clarity to your confusion. The insight I provide will be like the light of morning at sunrise. It will bring hope and energy. I will give you a bounce in your step, which will spark those around you.

I am a rock and cannot be moved. Seek me and find strength. Follow me with joy and passion and encourage others to do the same. In time you will have a group of faithful men and women by your side whom you trust. Experience life with them. Love and serve one another and watch the ways I provide. I will give you success, and your family of faith will tell stories for years of what I accomplished and how each of you experienced me in new ways. I am a God of love and hope. I want you to live and breathe those things and bring them to others.

NEXT STEP
Evaluate your leadership by how well you follow God. Are there any ways in which you would like to improve as God’s follower? Identify 3-5 people of faith you trust. Thank them for being trustworthy and ask them to pray that you would grow as a follower of God to improve as a leader.
