KEY VERSE2 Peter 3:9 (a picture of God’s heart)
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Jesus will come again. That day is nearer than ever, despite what those who mock may say. Ignore them and trust me and my word. But don’t live in a panicked state. Jesus is coming soon, but a day is like a thousand years to me, and a thousand years is like a day. My timing is perfect. I’m not slow. I’m patient. I don’t want to see anyone’s destruction. I want everyone to come to faith.

How then should you live? Live with love, with purpose, with passion, and with the end in mind. Enjoy temporary things, but don’t focus on them. Invest in something that lasts for eternity—invest in me, in my word, and in the renewal and growth of the human soul—your soul and the souls of everyone you see. The longer I wait, the more time people have for salvation. Grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus. When you honor Jesus, you glorify me.

NEXT STEP
