Strengthen and encourage those around you.

KEY VERSE2 Chronicles 8:16 (Solomon’s accomplishment)
So Solomon made sure that all the work related to building the Temple of the Lord was carried out, from the day its foundation was laid to the day of its completion.

I am at work in the world, and I am refining you. First, don’t ignore those who serve you or those who work alongside you. While you have jobs to perform and tasks to complete, I have put you amongst specific people for a reason. I want you to love and serve them, and I want you to learn from them. Be humble and eager to support them while simultaneously being open to what I want to teach you through them.

And while you work hard to achieve goals, pay attention to the reconstruction project I am doing in your heart and mind. I want you to praise me with all your heart, and I want you to love me with your mind. I will continue to mold and shape you into the image of Christ. Don’t resist me. Allow me to do the hard work of refining your character so that people see Jesus when they look to you.

What kind of work is God doing in your life? Don’t lose sight of developing your character while you seek to grow educationally and professionally. Ask God for one character trait he wants you to focus on. Pray about that area every day for a week, and research ways to grow in that area.
