2 Chronicles 18

2 Chronicles 18:1-34

SUMMARYStand alone

OVERVIEWMicaiah prophesied God’s message, even though it contrasted the message from the king’s 400 “prophets.”

BIG IDEABoldly stand for God and dare to accept the consequences.

KEY VERSE2 Chronicles 18:27 (Micaiah to Zedekiah)
But Micaiah replied, “If you return safely, it will mean that the Lord has not spoken through me!” Then he added to those standing around, “Everyone mark my words!”

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Don’t be like Ahab. He sought wisdom from false prophets because they feared him and would tell him whatever he wanted to hear. Don’t be like the false prophets, either. No job or relationship is worth it if you have to lie to please the other person. There is more to life, and I want you to seek it and experience it. But it requires a steadfast pursuit of the truth and a willingness to stand for it.

Micaiah was not intimidated by godless authority or enticed to advance his career through deceit. He proved that by choosing to be imprisoned instead of living a lie. Dare to live differently. Stand up for what you believe, even if it’s unpopular. And in this current age, many will reject you or ignore you for your beliefs. Trust me and my plan. Seek me and allow me to evaluate and refine your goals if needed. I am with you now and always. I invite you to follow me and stand for me today.

NEXT STEP
Say and do the right thing, regardless of whether or not it’s popular. Is there an area of your life you need to do that this week? An idea you need to speak for or against, or a habit you need to stop or begin?
