KEY VERSE1 Thessalonians 5:19 (Paul’s instruction)
Do not stifle the Holy Spirit.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
People around you live with a variety of intensity. Some work continuously so they can gain more and get ahead. Others never move, choosing to sit alone and silent while the world continues. Another group lives for the moment, not worrying about responsibilities or consequences. I want you to be ready for everything. I want you to stay tuned to me so that you are prepared to go hard when I ask and to rest when it’s time. I want you to enjoy life to its fullest with friends and family, but everything has its place and time.

In all that you do, encourage those around you to look to me and to listen, too. Don’t be overwhelmed by the world and learn to give thanks for everything—yes, even the challenging things. You are never lost; I am always with you. That’s why you can give thanks. As often as you breathe in and out, speak to me and listen for my reply. I will guide you. Be ready for what’s next.

NEXT STEP
Practice praying short prayers today. Talk to God all day. Let everything you see and do be a conversation with God. Remember to listen and give God a chance to reply.
