1 Samuel 28:1-25

SUMMARYTime’s up

OVERVIEW: Saul seeks instruction from the Lord, but it’s too late. Saul had previously refused to listen to the Lord, and so now, God declines to respond. Instead, Saul seeks counsel from a medium, asking her to injure the spirit of Samuel.

BIG IDEADon’t deny your sin. Deal with it today.

KEY VERSE1 Samuel 28:17 (Samuel to Saul)
The Lord has done just as he said he would. He has torn the kingdom from you and given it to your rival, David.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You cannot hide your sin. I see everything, so stop trying to cover it up. You can’t outrun the consequences for your sin. I may delay judgment, but it will come. Stop walking on eggshells, waiting to be found out, or scheming ways to avoid being caught. Don’t wait. Be quick to repent—turn from your evil or selfish ways and turn towards me and my approach to living. I know all, so don’t hope I will ignore or forget your sin.

I invite you to take action today. Accept my invitation and humble yourself completely. Let me bring you healing and hope. Let me remove any doubt, guilt, or shame and replace it with faith, hope, and love. The enemy will generate fear within you. Reject that. When you choose to turn from your sin, my arms are always open. You have nothing to be afraid of, but you have everything to lose by holding onto your sin. Give it up today and come to me.
