SUMMARY: Last laugh
OVERVIEW: Goliath looked at the size of his opponent and laughed. David looked at the size of his God and won.
BIG IDEA: Trust God more than human-made plans or modern technology.
KEY VERSE: 1 Samuel 17:45 (David to Goliath)
David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Whether or not you are currently facing a giant in your life, you will have plenty of giants to battle in the days ahead. Regardless of when you encounter them or who they are, look to me. I know they can be intimidating. I know they can tempt you to give up. I know they give convincing reasons to surrender to their desires. But don’t fixate on them. Look to me and let me lead you.
The size of the enemy does not matter. Look to me always. Don’t size your enemy up and determine whether or not you can handle this one or that one. And don’t be so overwhelmed you immediately surrender. I am Lord of all, and I will provide all you need for the big giants and the not-so-big ones. I want to become your reflex response. I want to be in a constant dialogue with you that it is easy and natural to invite me to lead you.
