OVERVIEW: As a result of the purifying work of Christ, we are to love each other deeply with all our heart (verse 22). We are empowered to do so through the unchanging word of God, which is always true.
BIG IDEA: Live holy. Love deeply.
KEY VERSE: 1 Peter 1:22 (Forgiveness produces love)
You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
You have been born again. You have life today and forever. Rest in that truth and celebrate, for my word declares it. Everything around you will fade away, but my word lives for all time. You have received a priceless eternity, which means I will protect you today until the end—and there is no end. You may wonder why there are pain and suffering, but they are only temporary. Even those who have suffered their entire lives on earth will rejoice for eternity in heaven.
Therefore live with purity and passion. Live a holy life. Live with love and laughter. Live with purpose, for every day you have on this side of heaven is a day to show my love to the world. Show genuine care to everyone you meet. I have forgiven you, so don’t let the poor choices from your past or the pain others have caused limit your love. It’s time to love others; it’s time to live!
