KEY VERSE1 Kings 19:7–8 (Angel to Elijah)
Then the angel of the Lord came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, or the journey ahead will be too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Your spiritual life is one part of who you are. I created you as a physical being, so care for your body. Get the sleep your body needs, and feed it well. Enjoy the sweet treats of the world, but do so in moderation. Taking care of the physical will strengthen the spiritual and mental as well. They are linked. Don’t worship your body, but love it and give it the attention it needs. Be kind to it and give thanks for all you can do.

Caring for your mind and body is a way to care for your soul. Live that and teach it to others. Invest in others. Making disciples is more than a command—it’s a lifestyle and mindset. Stop doing everything on your own, as if you are the only one who could accomplish the task. There will be a day you are no longer able to achieve all you do today, so teach others. Cast vision and help others know how to succeed in life, and remind them to do the same for others.

NEXT STEP
Count up the number of hours you slept over the last five days. Any changes you need to make? How much have you exercised over the same period? How are your eating habits? Set some goals for your physical health for the next week, but start today. What can you do differently today?
