SUMMARY: Spirit-led
OVERVIEW: Paul reminds the Corinthians that true wisdom comes from God, not from the world. God’s wisdom is hidden until the Spirit reveals it.
BIG IDEA: Jesus’ followers appear foolish to non-believers.
KEY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 2:13 (Paul to the Corinthians)
When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.
IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
When you surrendered to me and asked me to lead your life, I gave you the mind of Christ. I gave you the ability to understand the difference between right and wrong and the inclination to seek me and my power. I can provide you with victory over trials and temptations. I can deliver all you need. Don’t get so comfortable in our relationship that you stop turning to me. Don’t think you can handle the little things on your own and call on me for the big requests. Call on me at all times and for all concerns.
Don’t assume the wisdom of the world is good enough for you today. Don’t sell yourself short. Why settle for second best when all wisdom, power, and strength is available right now? The world deceives and disappoints. My Spirit empowers and provides. Those around you who don’t know me won’t understand why our relationship matters. Don’t let that frustrate you. Keep seeking me and pray for your friends, that they too would accept the gift of life I offer them.
