BIG IDEAIdentify your gift and grow and develop it so you can faithfully serve the church.

KEY VERSE1 Corinthians 12:7 (Paul to the Corinthians)
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
There are a variety of spiritual gifts, and I have at least one for you. Your talent is vital. Embrace it and do all you can to use it. Learn about it, develop it, and put it into action. Don’t fear you won’t be good enough or smart enough. Don’t compare your gift with others, wishing you had a different one. Your gift is precisely what your church needs. You play an essential role in bringing unity to the church and strengthening it.

You are a valuable piece of the church body. Just as a physical body has many parts, the same is true in the church, and each part plays a vital role in bringing health and vibrancy to your church and the surrounding community. So look at others in your church with fresh eyes. Look for ways they serve and thank them. Compliment and encourage them. Remind them that the church would not be the same without them. Invite those who are not helping to be part of the team. If they’re not sure where they want to serve, have them begin by serving alongside you.

NEXT STEP
Identify your spiritual gift by asking those in the church who know you well in what they think you are gifted. Then, search “spiritual gift test” online and fill out one or two to see if they match what others think.
