KEY VERSE1 Chronicles 29:9 (the people enjoy the opportunity to give)
The people rejoiced over the offerings, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord, and King David was filled with joy.

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
Look at all you can see. It belongs to me. Look at all you possess and enjoy. It also belongs to me. The world is my creation and my kingdom. Everything in the heavens and on earth is mine. But I lend it to you to enjoy and use and share with others. Be generous with all that you have, knowing that you own nothing. When you pass from earth into eternity, you’ll take none of your physical pleasures with you. All remains behind and is either given to another person or destroyed.

I will bless you throughout eternity. So use your time on earth to give generously and joyfully, freely and wholeheartedly. Rejoice over the opportunity to give and share what I have provided. Follow David’s example. He set aside resources to contribute to the Temple’s construction, but then he also gave above and beyond because of his devotion to me. Worship me and give me thanks. Find joy in giving as I enjoy being generous to you.

NEXT STEP
Evaluate your giving. Are you able to rejoice when giving, or do you offer your money reluctantly? Take time to pray this week with thanks for everything that God has given. Ask God if you are a good steward with his resources or if you need to change your giving.
