BIG IDEASing a song of praise today.

KEY VERSEPsalm 92:1–2 (a Psalm to be sung on the Sabbath Day)
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening…

IF GOD WROTE YOU A LETTER
I love it when you sing praise to me. I notice it, especially when you’re struggling or when your circumstances are bleak. In those moments, when you call on me, when you proclaim your faith, or when you put your trust in my character, I smile. It pleases me because it is a sweet sound and because I know it’s the healthiest decision you can make. Let a song lyric revive your spirit. Let a power chord point you to Jesus.

Make praise a constant in your life. That doesn’t mean you can only listen to Christian music. But while you work, or shop, or sit with friends, let the soundtrack of your thought life remind you who I am. Let the stillness of the night or the mid-afternoon lull include a melody of hope, telling you I am all you need and that I am with you and for you. Put your faith in me and sing a song of praise all day.

NEXT STEP
Spend one day or more this week where you listen to Christian music in place of watching or listening to the news, talk radio, or other music at home or in the car. Use the time to reflect on God, his character, what he has done, and give him praise.
